Are we losing our values in a growing material world?

Note that the other responders first defined "values", then told you why we were losing them. It's important to note that each and every one of them talked about why we were all losing HIS or HER "values".

In particular, the Christian asserted that HIS values were the only valid ones.

As you can see, most people reason egocentrically - that is, they assume themselves and their values to be the standard bearers for the rest of humanity.

The only way to minimize this sort of self-centered behavior, and perhaps get an answer to your question as well, is to define what YOU mean by values in your question.

Of course, you'll still get anal retentives who will attempt to "correct" your values before answering; but you may also get an answer or two in the context of YOUR values, which is what you're looking for.

Good luck!

LOL, the material world is not what is to blame, it's the lack of God in society. The old fable about the philosopher who at the end of his life finds his way to the top of the mountain, finds God with all the other Christians is a perfect example of what is to come. If anyone would take the time to notice, Christians are the only ones never surprised at anything that happens in the world. Some would say we dont care about world events, and thats not it. We care about world and home events, but we expect the worst as God said it would be in the end. There are of course no values anymore in society, look at tv, movies, and the growing liberal media who pushes for the most Godless society in history. We are headed for exactly what God said we would be headed for: read the Bible and you'll see what im talking about.

Every day it gets worse. There aren't too many people who realize what is important anymore.

Most are, but not all. We need to reconnect with God. But our society doesn't what to recognize God or any religion.
