okay so pretty much i royally screwed myself by not realizing i had an astronomy project due til the last minute. im supposed to have drawn 5 nights worth of moon observations, one per night. I was wondering if anyone has done their own, or if anyone knows where i can find recent photos of the moon, it would be much appreciated. I know this is my fault but i really want to get this grade, Thanks

Use the source to show what the Moon would look like on any night you want.

The Moon set today in the western sky about 3 hours before the Sun did and so you will not be seeing it tonight. It will rise tomorrow morning, in the eastern sky, at approximately 6:15 AM. However, by the time it gets to be high enough in the sky to observe, the Sun will also be rising and so it will be very difficult (almost impossible) to observe because it will be a very thin crescent (waning crescent). You will probably not spot the Moon in the sky until February 27 because it is so close to "New Moon" and you can not see the moon during this phase. Look for the Moon on February 27, in the western sky, just after sunset. It will be located right next to Venus, which appears as a really bright "star" in the sky. If you have a camera you will probably want to take a photograph of these two objects next to each other in the sky. It should be quite a sight! I hope that you like this answer. If so, please vote for it as the "Best Answer". As you may have noticed, most of my answers include a detailed explanation, so that the person who asked the question can learn from it. This takes more time to write, but is certainly worth it from an educational point of view.

It took me over 8 hours looking through a 5 inch refractor telescope with 35 mm lens to get an ok map of the full moon.
Problem is ,it would probably take another 24 - 48 hours to draw a really good map.
When I am done doing this ,and I will ,I will have something I will be proud of because of the effort and time I put into it.
What you are asking and planning on doing is a waste of time and effort.
Definitly , nothing to be proud of.
Astronomy does not sound like something you are truley interested in.
Too bad , it is really an amazing subject when you look through a telescope.
Take a zero and do the project next time if you are truley interested.
Hope this helps.
