Not considered pregnant...it is probably an evaporation line. This is why the directions say read the test in a certain time frame...I have had this happen to me also.

Most tests say not to look at the test after 10 minutes because you can get a evaporation line that looks like a positive when its not.Your results should show up in the time allowed and even a very faint line is a positive.Try taking another test first thing in the morning and the hormone will be more concentrated in your urine and you will get a better result.I have looked at a test after the allowed time and saw a line and was definately not pregnant, follow the directions and dont read after 10 minutes. They also have a test that tells you pregnant or not pregnant and you dont have to try and figure out the results it will just beep when ready and tell you yes or no,i used one of those with my last baby and it was definately accurate!

The line appeared after the 10-minute time limit. Is it still positive? No. You can't rely on any test results that appear after the time limit. There is a reason the tests have a time limit-- and torturing us is not usually that reason ;) If a line appears in the "results" window after the time specified in the directions, wait a couple days and test again. HPT's are rapid assay diagnostics, which means any results appearing after the "rapid" time limit of 10 minutes are invalid-- after this time, natural changes in the chemicals may cause lines to appear. (Please don't e-mail me to say this happened to you and you really were pregnant. The odds of having this occur and still end up pregnant are the same as the odds of having any false negative and later detecting pregnancy. In other words, the test is still considered negative; some women testing too early get false negatives.)

See A Cautionary Tale and The +/- Tests for examples of "positives" appearing after the 10-minute mark when the tester (me!) was not pregnant.

I took a HPT a couple months ago, I thought it was negative, but my friend said "NO! That's a faint positive" I did some research online, and it seemed that she was right, a week later, I took another test, and it was clearly positive this time. Just wait a few days and take another.

The directions say that if anything changes -after- the time limit, to disreguard the results. So if the line didn't appear before the time limit, then the test results are negative, but that doesn't necessairly mean that you're not pregnant. You could be testing early enough that there's not enough of the hormone in your urine yet. Either way, there's no harm in taking another test. :)

YES, even the lightest pink line means it is poss. This just indicates that your HCG levels are very low but present. Which means you are very early pregnant. The same happened to me I even went to the clinic to test again and they said I wasn't. A month later I knew something was wrong went to another doctor and It was confirmed I had been pregnant the whole time.

a faint line can appear after 10 minutes on most tests, im guessing you are not pregnant, but if your concernend take another test and look at it after 2 minutes.

it means nothing it will always come up after that long a time thats why they say to read your results no later than 5 min's or 10 i cant remember but the results are no good after that, if your still wondering take another one.

There will only be a line if there is any hint of HCG in your urine!! Congrats!! Take another test in 4 days(it supposidly doubles every 3 days on average) and you should see results much sooner!

I would say nothing. Dont think you are pregnant, but you might want to tak another test later.
