This sounds like a question of how do you get over having a low self esteem. First, realize you can not please all people. But, you must be able to look back at the person in the mirror at the end of the day and feel good about who you see! As long as you like YOURSELF no one else really matters. IF you like yourself though others will also like you. I used to be really really shy and I found out through lots of growing up and years behind me that if had been able to be more friendly to people I would have had more friends as a child and young person. Remember this...people will MIRROR your behavior. Smile and people smile. Frown and they frown at you. Realize that non verbal communication is about 90% of our communication. Do a search on "non verbal communication" and read about it. Good luck and I know you will be fine!

Your question was answered by all those before me. Respect is earned. It is not aways given when it is due, since there are so many people of the world today that simply just don't care about such things as respect. Just keep in mind, as mentioned before, that what you sow you shall also reap. Continue to let respect be a part of your life.

Hard question. I guess you don't get it, you earn it. You have to live in such a way that people begin to see you as a person who has integrity, compassion and courage. One way to live into that: work for some local justice cause in your community. Support the poor or forgotten. Join a volunteer group. Be sincere and work hard and I believe you will gain the respect you deserve.

Respect starts with "SELF" Respect is earned and commanded by your mannerisms, attitude and personality. Respect youself and the rest will follow.
