The dictionary is out-dated!
The bible was written as a historical account of that time
by men who had their own ideas of how life should be.
If we did not have the bible to quote from, then what would
our arguments against gays and lesbians be?
Or for that matter - anyone that does not fit into the
categories that the bible denounces.
Yes, it is time that the laws on marriage are changed.
No one likes to be punished (biblical or otherwise)
for their decisions and mistakes!

Because people pick and choose the rules they want to follow. It's not right, but it's the way things are done here. Forty years ago it was harder to get a divorce and the result was wives and children neglected by errant husbands. At least woman and their children have some legal recourse now. But you could decide to live in an Islamic theocratic nation where only woman are punished for adultery and rape. Oh, and gays have no rights at all.

You are correct in that were the bible to be really followed adult committing people would be punished ( stoned to death). Just as would homosexuals. The bible does not say homosexuals or adulterers are to be granted certain rights or assumed OK. It says they are to be killed period. That is one of the reasons I am an atheist.
Homosexuals are not as you say(you are correct again) responsible for their condition and it is a condition. Nature plays strange tricks to weed out undesirable traits or reduce populations when it is needed and homosexuals just happens to be one of those traits nature uses. Nature doesn't intend for everyone to breed and produce offspring, and making some people homosexuals is one of those methods she uses.
Nothing special it's just mother nature at work and by the way it';s happening More every day in the animal world (more than ever before) as our world climate changes.

First of all a marriage is when a man enters a woman according to adam and eve...
Now lawyers entered into it and have added a contract, which is not as it was from the beginning, we honour our original mother and father by a man being with a woman, and Jesus refers to this in Matt.19...also we are to recieve the sure mercies of David... and he had 5 or so wives and 100 concubines... and he did not get into trouble about doing so until he had Bethsheba, and had her husband killed...

I agree! Besides, there are worse people than homosexuals. Most of the child molestors and cold blooded murderers in history have been professed "straight" people. And besides, wasn't Paul the Apostle gay? He was truly the biggest basher...and that is a tell-tale sign of a closet queer. Judging from his writings, he never married and he hated women. I have read the Bible many times. Jesus didn't mention gays, but in fact said in one place that it would "be more tolerable in the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gommorah than for those in the land of Tyre and Sidon." Those were people he preached to that didn't listen........

Because we pick at the bible and depict it the way we want to at that time, i hate the bible i think it is full of lies. I hate to sound so inmature about it, but the bible just makes me boil... and i also think that what ever you end up, you are born with it.. Just ask all the republicans......LOL sorry quick shot at the Rep.

Gay people are not mentioned in the constitution but they are in the BIBLE. If you would OPEN the BOOK and read it you would see that the last towns in the BIBLE that condoned this kind of lifestyle were destroyed by GOD with fire and brimstone. Contrary to what you and many other morally deficient people think, there is no excuse for being "gay" or "lesbian" or a child molester other that by absolute choice of the individual. No one was "born gay" and can't help it as you say, they chose to be that way because they follow their father Satan. If they did not know it was wrong why then do they feel the need to rub their sickness in everyone's face? Ya know the bottom line is that no matter how you spin it, right is right and wrong is wrong and most importantly GOD IS ALWAYS RIGHT AND WHAT HE SAYS IS FOR OUR OWN GOOD!! That' it bro.

Excellent observation! The answer is that good Christians want divorces but don't want to marry someone of their own sex. They want their own sin to be legal but gay couple's to be illegal. Its hypocrisy.
