I shave my private area often now, and I always get a few bumps that are uncomfertable. Plus, being fair skinned doesn't help me hiding them from my boyfriend. He's coming over tomorrow for a romantic night and I was wondering what I can do to prevent this from happening?

If you don't want the bumps try this. Make sure everytime you shave you use a fresh blade or shaver. Make sure you shave in one directions to prevent in grow hair. You could always try using hair removers. Nair makes a mousse that smell alright and works well. You could get a wax. With that you have to do that at least a day or two in advance. The mousse really works well. With anything new you try test it first to make sure you won't break out. Give yourself a 24 hour test then if everything is ok then proceed. Hope this helped you out.

Like I've answered before, it's completely healthy and normal. Waxing is less dangerous and costs about $35 every 4 weeks so it might be a better route to go. If you do shave though start with a trimmer with a guard!!!(no guard and you will cut yourself to doll rags)before using the blade. When using the blade make sure you hold your excess folds of skin, labia, out and away from the side you're shaving as these are filled with blood vessels and it can lead to a decent bit of bleeding, once you get down that far(best to start from the top as you'll be able to see more of what your doing as you go down). Before you start I recommend using Bump Rx from Sally's Beauty Store for about 4 days, it cuts down on skin rashes, bumps and chafing. Good luck!

use this thing called tend skin. it works at preventing and curing the bump. the ONLY problem is that it smells like vinegar. otherwise shave in the direction of hair growth, not against it. alos try using a electrical shaver. they close but not so close that they cause bumps. thats what I use.

After shaving, apply Desetin (a diaper rash cream) and leave it on for 10 minutes, then wash off. It likes to stay where you put it, so you'll need hot water and soap. Works like a charm!
