If your stomach is hurting all the time, it could be something more serious than lactose intolerance. Vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements are great when they're used to add on to a healthy diet, but there isn't a guarantee they would make you feel better. If you think the pain is food related, try cutting out different types of food on an alternating schedule and see if the pains go away. Also, if it's aggravated by acidic foods, it could be an ulcer. If it feels like gas or constipation, that's another thing that could be controlled by carefully monitoring your diet. If you're really not interested in doing this, (and believe me, it can be a pain), go to a natural or alternative health website and do some research to find what suits you best...you definitely don't want to start popping pills and making things worse, and this can happen just as easily with OTC and herbal products. If it's really bad, it may not hurt to consult a doctor, whichever kind you choose. An MD, DO, or chiropractor should be able to accommodate you, and if they can't respect that you wish to take a natural approach, find someone that will. Good luck!

Yes, Lactaid IS an all-natural remedy for lactose intolerance. It is a pure form of lactase, which is the enzyme that breaks down milk sugars (lactose). People with intolerance eitehr lack this enzyme completely, or do not produce enough of it to digest lactose. By taking a few of these tablets (read directions) before eating a milk-based food, you can make up for the deficiency enough to enjoy that ice cream for a change!

are you trying to eat dairy when you are lactose intolerant? don't. and don't do the lactaid thing either -- it doesn't work very well if you are fully lactose intolerant. if you just had to have ice cream or a cheese burger and feel sick now the best thing i found to do is eat more dairy and when you reach saturation it will all push itself out if you don't' mind spending some quality time with your toilet. you will feel much better after.
I have learned to drink light soy milk -- its ok -- you can get soy ice cream too.
if you are looking for things to help your stomach that aren't related to lactose intolerance try mint or linden or chamomile tea. or all 3.
If your stomach is too acid you can take a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water.
If your stomach is too alkaline you can take a teaspoon of vinegar.

Hope this helps:
Nutritional supplements that may be helpful
Supplemental sources of the enzyme lactase may be used to prevent symptoms of lactose intolerance when consuming lactose-containing dairy products. Lactase drops may be added to regular milk 24 hours before drinking to reduce lactose levels. Lactase drops, capsules, and tablets may also be taken orally, as needed, immediately before a meal that includes lactose-containing dairy products. The degree of lactose intolerance varies by individual, so a greater or lesser amount of oral lactase may be needed to eliminate symptoms of lactose intolerance.
Researchers have yet to clearly determine whether lactose-intolerant people absorb less calcium. As lactose-containing foods are among the best dietary sources of calcium, alternative sources of calcium (from food or supplements) are important for lactose-intolerant people. A typical amount of supplemental calcium is 1,000 mg per day.
Lactobacillus acidophilus supplements do not appear to be effective in reducing the signs and symptoms of lactose intolerance. In a preliminary trial, people with lactose intolerance were given Lactobacillus acidophilus supplements twice daily for seven days, but failed to show any improvement in symptoms or laboratory measurements of lactose digestion.4

I can't imagine that there is any way to make your stomach stop hurting, if it hurts because you're consuming lactose. I assume you've asked your doctor about the medications that can offset it? If you insist on eating something that really hurts your body, I can't understand your obsession with a "natural" remedy. It's already unnatural for you.
Anyway, I've seen someone in the throes of post-lactose agony, and no peppermint tea was going to cure her. She just had to get through it.

Your body can not tolerate lactose, so YOU'RE the stupid one who keeps taking it in. eat all the herbs and grass you want. Cow. but your always gonna have problems with your intolerance.
