Intelligent Energy’s ENV motorcycle is the first to pop to mind though there are others fuel cell motorcycles and motor scooters also in the works. I contacted Intelligent Energy a few weeks ago to see when the ENV was going to be released to the public (it was supposed to be here by fall 2006) and they couldn’t say how much longer the release would take.
Other companies such as Honda and Aprilia (fuel cell) are working on their hydrogen motorcycles and scooters as well. A graduate student from Delft University in Holland has created the Fhybrid Hydrogen Scooter as a school project. The University of Tasmania has also created a fuel cell scooter. Yamaha has unveiled a 125cc internal combustion engine (ICE) hydrogen scooter called the FC-Aqel. Aqwon has developed a 2-stroke hydrogen scooter as well that is powered by ICE.
So, hydrogen fuel cell and ICE motorcycles and scooters are under development from many different manufacturers and it is only a matter of a very short time until they start hitting the market. Expect these vehicles in the showroom before fuel cell cars.

To "Q & A MAN": Your argument isn't very valid. When a woman has conceived a child, the baby, of course, isn't immediately fully grown. It starts off as a fetus without all of the bodily systems that you would see in a human. Also, even when the child is born, it continues to grow. The child even ends up with more bones than it once had; certain functions of an infant's brain get weaker as they get older too because they end up being obsolete. As we grow, our cells continuously multiply causing us to get greater in size, so the theory that we all started from a single celled organism isn't too far fetched. Not to mention, a lot of microorganisms that cause illness evolve as our medicine gets more advanced. It's all about the organism adapting so that it can be ahead of the game and insure the continuation of the species. EDIT: Another thing that I forgot to mention is that our "design" isn't even flawless. We're susceptible to mutations and illnesses. Also some parts of the body aren't really necessary; there are some things that our bodies can't naturally recover from as well. Now to the question: The only part of the 'God concept' that seems reasonable is the "let there be light" thing. Maybe this was possibly the big bang. Maybe this universe was created accidentally by some intelligent beings or some natural occurring phenomenon. Perhaps it'll happen again. The idea of an omnipotent being has simply evolved with mankind over time to explain what couldn't be explained. Even now when we can't explain something we associate it with things that we are already familiar with.

This is an interesting concept. I have question, though.
How does one drive a motorcycle in the snow? I live in Ohio. We get lots of snow. I don't remember seeing a lot of motorcycles out on the street when there is about 12" of snow on the ground.
I know my comments have little to do with fuel cells. However, this comment should be taken into consideration.
Just a thought.

Not cheaper, but a valid concept that IS being explored by many many smaller companies. Trouble is that most of the larger manufacturers are driven by the idiots like Bill-B above with the "drag pipes", guys who think they are riding their shiny private parts, instead of a mode of transportation (which is also why you don't see many bikes in the snow - they shrink in the cold!).
Hopefully, someday real soon, electric motor vehicles (bikes and cars and vans) will become more common. The industry is still trying to decide if there are enough intelligent people like you around to make it profitable, or if the market is still full of "blaaaaat"-ing Brando wannabes like putz-boy up there.

British company Intelligent Energy today unveiled ENV, the world's first purpose-built, fuel-cell motorbike - ahead of any of the world's leading automotive companies. The ENV bike is the creation of Intelligent Energy, a British energy solutions company, whose board includes Chairman Sir John Jennings, the former Chairman of Shell Transport and Trading.

You are right. People in this country think of motorcycles as environmentally friendly. They are not. I think fuel cells would be great, because it would prevent the rider from getting overheated as some bikes do now when they have to sit and idle in traffic. Thats if fuel cells don't heat up.

Fuel cells are mot space efficient with today's technology.
Stop andd go traffic is ideal for hybrids though, and the small power sizes of commuter motorcycles would be ideal. Or even all electrics, because of the small charging station size.
