The past and future only exist in the mind and are experienced now. Nothing ever happens outside of now.

ahhh but now only happens in your mind also. what I am experiencing now surely is not what you are experiencing, so my now is not your now, nor is it your future or past, therefore nothing really exists only in your mind, or perhaps only in my mind, OHHHHHhhhhh, I'm getting a headache, I think I need another hit! AAhhhh that's better

It's true. I always think of that, and get a huge headache. It's like, you say 'now' but it's really 'then'.
We don't know that all we've experienced is true. What is our real past if we've every had one? Do we have a future?
It's like when I think of my life if I was reincarnated...

Why would you think that. If we experience now as now, how do we know it isnt something from the future or something from the past. The only way we know its "now" is because it isnt from our past and we cant forsee the future. So "now" cant exist unless we recognize the past and future. All must exist equally and independently.

Hey-sorry I'm not answering your question, but I just wanted to thank you for your answer to my OCD question. You were very understanding of my situation and you were right about a lot of things. It's very true that now that I'm in therapy, it kind of proves to them that I'm "crazy." Hopefully I can get through this without their help. Thanks again.
