in a solution of bleach and water, leave your sheets soaking for about 1 - 2 hours, then wash normally. If you leave them too long, they will wear out much faster.

Are we talking about mildew? Just soak them in your washer using a cup per load for a 20 to 30 minutes before washing. Premix the water and bleach before putting in the sheets. This should do it. You can adjust the soak times by experimenting.

Consider buying a different color than white. Go with a neutral tone with a pattern. They will hide the stains better. Just don't go over board with the bleach, as it will eat the sheets. Try SPRAY-N-WASH on the stains...the foaming kind works best. Also the 'roll on' SPRAY-N-WASH tube...rub it on...wash later, lol.

All I can say is that I bleached some knickers which were once white & had turned an unnatractive shade of grey. I went away for the weekend & forgot they were still soaking. When I got them out they were about 2 times bigger! Weird ey? So, anyway. Don't do that unless you want bigger sheets!

You should check to see if the stains are gone. Then put them in awhile longer. I hope it is not all bleach. I hope it is like less than 1/4 bleach

if you leave them in there for longer than a day your just cutting down there life expectancy they will just wear out faster and possible tear and get holes in the near future as you continue to wash them.
