In the winter, I keep mine on 68 and crack a window for fresh air to keep the house from drying out. If toddlers are around, I shut the window. Most parents keep their children in warm clothing so it will not bother them. Also, a lot of children are warm blooded and really don't like a lot of heavy clothing. Ask your guests what would be a comfortable for their child and comply with that. You can always change it after the visit is over.

In the summer, I keep a/c on 70 to 72.

Dear Undecided,
This really depends on thermoregulation. There are two types of thermoregulation. One is physiological or known as Endothermy - This is when an organism changes its physiology to regulate body temperature. For example, many mammals even toddlers tend to sweat in order to lower temperature. Another example is when humans get cold, muscles may shiver in order to produce heat. Two is behavioral or known as Ectothermy - This is when an organism changes its behavior to change its body temperature. For example, when animals warm up in direct sunlight, they may wish to find shade to cool down. Or the toddler may want to be held to be warmed up.
So keep the thermostat on your desired level and watch the little kid before readjusting. Have Fun. PZB

I have three toddlers and I keep it at the level that I am comfortable and then I feel their hands, face and feet. If they are cold I add a long sleeved shirt, or pants, if they are warm I put on shorts and a T-Shirt. You can't really adjust it to them, if they are playing they are warmer, if they are asleep they are cold. I keep mine at about 72-75 and make adjustments from there. Good luck.

I am raising 2 toddlers and I set it at whatever I am comfortable at. If they get cold they tell me. If they get hot they start sweating. One of them is two and the other is 3. They can communicate very well.

78 in summer 72 in winter.
the cheapskate and PC and healthy temp plan.
usually they are dressed appropriate. adjust temps up if they are not.
smaller bodies lose heat faster. have warm blankets for nap time. make sure in winter they ar e always wearing socks and hats and gloves outdoors.
we all lose most heat through head and other extremities too.
and don't worry about yourself you'll stay plenty warm chasing them around!

Keep the little guy warm w/a sweater on. Keeping a house too warm is bad as germs thrive in warm places. Keep it at what you usually keep it at.

Ask the toddler's parents what temperature they're comfortable at.

It depends! If they are up running around maybe I turn it low, asleep I turn it up. Why not ask the child? Usually whatever is comfortable for you is ok for them.
