Because 10^1 = 10, you know that log(10) = 1.

You can simplify log(5) / log(10) to:
= log(5) / 1
= log(5).

The final part I can't do without a calculator... it's 0.69897.

I would assume it's lg5 over lg10 = lg0.5

its easy you look at the rule lg(x)/lg(y) =lg(x-y) so it would be lg(-5) but only defined for positive numbers so its going to be somewhere around lg(5)=0.698
