They seem to be 'failing' so much because the media is exploiting every little detail when in reality both parties each have their own issues that are affecting America. I just find it ironic that during the whole 9/11 crisis, the country pulled together and the Republican party was seen as a leader taking charge of unfamiliar circumstances and now people are angry that they are fighting to keep our freedom and stop further U.S. attacks. They have increased our security, are paying closer attention to who comes into our country and have helped out the economy job wise. Who cares about a few scandals. Look over all of history, it's basically whatever party that's in office that looks like the bad guy. It's a vicious cycle(to not be satisfied with our leaders) that just keeps going.

Oh How The Mighty Has Fallen
It is the whole pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. I think the right wing born agains should be marching on Washington mad as hell. They have been sold out, by the White House, by Congress, by their own leaders. As a Protestant, I like just sitting back to watch. We are being real about life and faith, not trying to live up to 636 laws that no one could follow.
Iraq looks worse that anything LBJ faced, republicans are coming out of the closet faster than furs in storage at Sak's, they are running almost 1950ish Klan ads in Nashville, and the lobbyist are FREAKING OUT! And if you think the b**ching of this week was bad, sugar just wait 5 days. You have never heard so much gloom and dispair. My money is on a huge showdown in court over a Senate seat. Just wait, they are already talking about it.

Yup, they've only lowered taxes, gotten the economy roaring again, unemployment down to 4.4%, 6.5 million new jobs in the last 36 months, the deficit down, prevented further domestic terror attacks put the terrorists on the run.
I'm not blind that there isn't some failures, namely Iraq. But the overall legacy isn't one of failure, but of success. Iraq may yet prove successful. Bush has always said this would be a long hard war. We're only 3.5 years into it. Heck, the Iraqi gov't has only been in power for 8 months now. They need a couple of more years to get their country in order, with our help.
And don't compare the Clinton economy with Bush. They aren't even comparable. Clinton inherited a poor economy and was beneficiary of a brand new industry during the later half of the 90's, namely the dot.com boom, which provided a lot of new wealth and jobs. Bush inherited a poor economy and got hit with 9/11 instead of a brand new industry. Bush's challenges were far greater and his policies helped pull the economy out of a slump and got it roaring again.

Your question is fairly rhetorical, but I agree. The ruling party has never really had the interests of their grassroots supporters at heart. They have talked up family values to delude their supporters into backing them, but they have never meant it. The unfolding scandals make this now so painfully clear, but their agenda has been at heart more about making corporations richer and the president more powerful.
American voters do not seem to do enough of their own research. None of the political advertising during this last rush before we vote offers anything useful to helping us make informed votes. There are so many lies being told, most coming from the RNCC.
If anyone in the current admiistration ever develops a conscience and shares with the public what has gone on behind closed doors in the White House and the Pentagon, even the most fervent grassroots conservatives will be shocked and dismayed.

That sounds approximately genuine @ Luke replaced into right here, what an stupid element to assert. particular, the Democrats in Congress are terrible. they did no longer do something they promised they might do,yet they have in basic terms been in capacity for 2 years. Are you forgetting that the Republicans have been in capacity for the 1st 6 years of Bush's presidency, and that they supported his crappy regulations that have delivered on the present mess. The economic device beginning falling aside previously 2006,and gas expenses started going larger previously 2006. The Democrats additionally don't have a great adequate majority to override a presidential veto, and the Republicans save filibustering charges that are placed out by capacity of the Democrats. Congress won't be able to artwork if the two sides are bickering. so which you are able to blame the Democrats fullyyt for the state of the country is absurd

No they have not. They are defending it against militant Islam.
As Osama bin Laden puts it: "In this final phase of the ongoing struggle, the world of the infidels was divided between two superpowers--the United States and the Soviet Union. Now we have defeated and destroyed the more difficult and the more dangerous of the two. DEALING WITH THE PAMPERED AND EFFEMINATE AMERICANS WILL BE EASY."
I believe that it is people like you who inspire Osama to think the above about the USA.

Because, with the exception of a tax cut they act like Democrats. Spending way more than they take in (regardless of the huge increase in revenue), creating more and more bureaucracy, allowing millions of illegal aliens to enter our country unchecked, and and calling the problems the other party's fault.

Because they have focused on the wrong issues. While chasing some pipe dream in Iraq, the people are becoming outraged at the atrocities of illegal immigration. Only now, on the eve of midterm elections, are republicans turning towards the important issue instead of trying to explain their way out of the Iraq debacle.

They have only failed middle America and those in the lower brackets. Rich America is thriving from this war and the friends of the present administration are making a fortune from Bush's war.

Because the democrats failed to stop them. Thats their job in a two party system. To make sure that there is balance. Other wise the Repulicans go crazy and we end up fighting a war we dont want to fight. Go independent party. and democrats next time bring somebody better than the flip flop
