House: Democrats need 15 more seats and will gain between 12 and 48 seats to control the house. The more likely number is around 20 to 25 seats.
Senate: Democrats need 6 seats. They will get 3 more seats for certain. Most polling places believe they will almost definitely get an additional seat as well. Then there are 3 toss up states. No one has a clue what will happen in them. Democrats could gain between 3 and 7 seats.

Democrats will take the House by 18, which is half the average midterm election gain average of 35 seats for the past 30 years. Republicans will barely keep the Senate: 51 to 49.
Why? Normal mid-term aggravation at the party in charge, accentuated by the Iraq war which doesn't seem to be near resolution (Sunnis and Shiittes will never quit killing each other - ever). And with 80% of the Main Stream Media completely endorsing and promoting Democrats, hard to overcome that free propaganda.

Republicans
1. Democrats offer nothing positive. They only stand against the President and Republicans
2. Democrats are not trusted to protect this country. Republicans do much better on this consistently.
3. This whole election has hinged on whether the Republican base will vote. The Kerry comments have infuriated a lot of people. It reminds conservatives that Democrats look down on the military.
4. Democrats want to raise taxes, which will kill the economy.
While I cannot say that the Republicans are great, they have shown to be the lesser of two evils.
If you actually look at the numbers on the supposed close elections, most of them have neither candidate at 50%. In PA, Casey is ahead of Santorum by a good amount, but there too many who have not decided. At best elections like this are not able to be called.
Go to realclearpolitics.com and see what I mean. Add about 3.5% to any Democrat total and it will not hit 50% on most of these. If the poll shows more than 50%, you have to subtract the 3.5% margin of error. I am guessing the margin of error because it is not listed. If you have a race that is 51-48% it is a statistical tie with a 3.5% margin of error. Not only that, but most of these polls are not accurate because of how the questions are asked.

Republican, the Democrats have yet to assert any plan. all of the political blunders they have finished are going to return lower back and chew them in the process the elections. As one individual as quickly as mentioned, Republicans stand for something, Democrats stand for each little thing. it relatively is no longer looking sturdy for the democrats in '06, California is testomony to that. A Republican went to reformatory for bribery, and a Republican replaced into elected to replace him. It additionally would not help that the Democrats in congress have a decrease approval score than the president. It additionally would not help that the Democrats have publicly pronounced that they plan on commencing off study after study on Bush. maximum people needs congress to do something, no longer get themselves mired in political grand status. The inventive rules at the instant are not needed by skill of maximum people and that's additionally going to injury them. For all of the republican short comings they're coming with a plan and don't have the pandering the democrats do (they have some, in basic terms no longer as undesirable). yet I do think of the subsequent President would be a average to purpose and depolarize usa.

Traditionally, the public gets sick of the President during the second Presidential term because he is such a large target, which leads to the opposing party having a larger stake in the House and Senate for the remainder of the President's term. This lead to the attempted impeachment of Clinton a few years back, and it may lead to an attempted impeachment this time around. I am expecting to see Democrats gain control of the House, although maybe not the Senate.

The Democrats !
The Republicans have done their very best to screw things up as usual. I received this long drawn out letter the other day doing nothing but cutting down every Democrat that ever lived, I feel the need to post my answer here, almost a democratic duty
When it comes to having a President, who really cares how they treat the people who are paid to take care of them? They are paid, I take abuse everyday, but I am paid, it is part of the job they are not suppose to mingle with these people just like the limo driver's for most true celebrities.
I agree with Hillary and Al Gore, I despise the Republican ideals. They have never never gotten us anywhere, take a look around, 55% of Americans whether they are Republican or Democrat believe the economy is much worse than when Mr Clinton was in office, 54% believe it is no better! That only leaves 1% and that believe it is better and I have got to chalk that up to the 1% of fools that live in this country. 75% whether Democrat or Republican believe the war in Iraq is wrong and we need to come home, is Mr Bush backing down now??? I think the 25% that still think that our men and women in the armed forces should still be fighting this Bush made war, need to volunteer to go and fight it themselves.
So the Secret Service did not like Hillary nor Al Gore, awww!
THE WORLD LEADERS DESPISE BUSH! Which is more detrimental to our country as a whole?? Think about that one long and hard!
My question on the subject of Clinton cheating on his wife is, whose business is that? I say that it is theirs and about him lying about it, Mr Bush the second, was never a fighter pilot that was daddy Bush. And back to the subject, how many married men would like to come forward in front of the whole country, right now, this very moment and tell their wife's on live TV that they are cheating on them???
But percentage wise their is approximately 65% of men who are or have cheated on their wife's, why do we not know about those? I say hats off to Hillary for acting as composed as she did, that is true dignity!! Hats off to Mr Clinton for confessing something that only God and his own conscience needed to deal with. Now would you like to talk about Mr. Foley?? I would rather be accused of dating Marilyn Monroe on the side than Bart Simpson or whoever the child may be.
Facts: President Kennedy was a great man who didn't even have to demand patriotism from this country but had us all believing we were the greatest nation in the world and we were. No matter who he may have slept with on the side his family came first and there was no doubt about that. World leaders feared and respected him. Rent for a 2 bedroom apartment was $125.00 a month in an upper class neighborhood. I have nothing to say about Johnson only from what I know I think he should have been a Republican, the good ole boy syndrome seems to have cornered that market. Mr. Carter, a proven military genius, that sure helped Mr Bush 1. I loved Mr Carter he was a wonderful man too and his wife a fantastic person.
Well I know you are mad by now, but if people were made to take government classes starting in Jr high maybe we would all be educated on the facts!
I say Go Hillary!!! It is about time as women we took it to the House, so to speak and you know I have to add one more thing before I go. I would love the chance to campaign the whole state of Texas for Hillary! and get rid of the good ole boy syndrome going on here!
Have a great day and God Bless us all (Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians and Kinky!)

Republicans will keep control. The reason is that no matter how much liberal spew hate about President Bush this is not a national election... it a local election and most will vote for the incumbent because everyone likes what their elected official has done to represent their state.
