about much beyond sex, their myspace and iming their friends. I don't understand the laziness I see, the lack of interest in getting an education, the lack of realization that they are the future, and that kids in other countries are passing us up. Which means one day they could out smart and out do us if we continue to be the kind of people we see on jaywalking. Rome fell, Ancient Egypt fell.....no culture lasts forever......the dumbing down of education, our spoiled kids, could be our downfall. I just don't know if it the failure of parents, the influence of media, or just a spoiled, I don't care attitude.

You're partially correct. However, where I grew up, most of the kids parents didn't raise them good. I'm 20 years old and I love my parents, but they did a horrible job of raising me! My parents (and most of the adults in my area) were too busy working to focus on raising kids. The adults didn't even teach us about sex and drugs in my area. So I guess it is the failure of the parents, because sadly, my parents didn't teach me anything valuable, I learned things the hard way.....

PS: Media isn't to blame for what your parents shoud have taught you. People like to use the media as a scapegoat, but it's almost always the persons upbringing that influences his/her actions.

I get your point....But see, here are our reasons...

1.) Lazy Parents (Like Mother Like Daughter)
2.) Yelling Parents (gives me a sense of unloving nature)
3.) The spoiling of our Parent (You don't have to give us a tv in our room!! For heavens sake, you think WE gripe)
4.) Peer Pressure (If our friends do it, we get pressured to, like that song by Freddy Mercury and David Bowie)

See, we 'lazy teens' have reasons to be so lazy....Then again, not all of us are.

I like myspace, sex, and IMing my friends. But I have interests past those... They're just 'teen phases'. The kids of the 90's liked ugly clothes and bashing the government.
The kids of today like slutty clothes and ignoring the government.
