I forgot to say he has a cool bike and helmet already. he is currently in school football and will be doing baseball when it comes up again. He likes video and board games(i have a areyougame.com catalogue that i am looking through).

I have 4 nephews and 2 nieces, aged 2 to 9. I make it a habit of spending only 5-10 dollars per kid at Christmas. I usually just go to Big Lots and buy toys there. No matter what I buy, the kids always seem to love whatever I get them. They are just happy to have a present from Unckie Graydon.

Unless this is your own kid, don't sweat it too much. He will probably love whatever you give him.

On the other hand, if this is an only nephew or whatever, yo u might be the Hero Aunt and buy him a bike!

Go to websites like toysrus.com and learningexpress.com -- they have toys suggested by age. I find this helpful when looking for things for my kids. I happen to have a learning express catalog here.....Mini Table Top Air Hockey Game, Remote Controll Robot Planet Fighter, Remote Control Demolition Derby Cars, Big Shot Rocket (that uses air to send the rocket up), Legos, Microscope, Build Your Own Remote Control Car, Disgusting Science.......

he's getting a psp right do you not think he will really like that? The nintendo DS has a brain age game. It helps w/ math, not sure about spelling. does he have a cool bike. We give our kids to many indoor things and they are getting fat and we wander why we have so many kids on meds for add. We don't expect them to exercise or have physical activity.

This never fails...
A remote control car, truck, or airplane. Even the mini's are cool and not too expensive. It's something they can play with as soon as they open it up and have a blast. Soon everybody wants to get the chance to mess with it and if they're not messing with it they're watching; and your gift is the big hit...

Ask him what he's interested-airplanes, cars, motorcycles, etc. then get him books on the subject! It will interest him and it will help with his reading also. Also to balance out "boring books," Legos, Transformers, cars-these are things my younger brothers like to play with. Hope this helps!

Good thing for you to do, is take him into a store, tell him, hey lets go look at the toys and see what catches his eyes
