I currently weigh 120 lbs. and am 5 ft. 7 in. For wrestling, I would like to move down to 112 lbs. I am wondering if this would be a smart decision. Would it be smart to sacrifice strength for a potentially "easier" weight? There are many people who would be going for 119 and I would rather just go to 112. Will I lose that much strength by dropping 8 pounds over a long period of time? Is it impossible to get to 112 lbs. without losing most of my muscle? Is 112 too skinny for my height?

112 is awfully light for someone that's 5'7". It really depends on your body type I guess. Just be careful and healthy about it.

go one up insted, 125 i wrestled freshman year 130 after that, less people in the class and your taller so its healther, I know your body type though, lanky tall right? go up one but maby not all the way to that weight you know what I mean if you weigh over the 120 mark you go to the next one, just do that be half way in between so you dont put on fat to go up but stay relitvly quick and in a weight class that has less people giving you more of a chance for V.
