Every second of every day.
Children should be able to sue the parents that subsequently ruined their lives and tortured their souls.

I hate my mother so much i see red when i think of her and what she did to all of her children...none of us turned out ok...we're all broken.

Yes, it haunts me all the time.

My mother preferred my brother and my dad preferred my sister, There were three of us. I try to remember the fun times I had when I was younger, but this always haunts me. It's not fun being in a house full of people and feeling alone. This gave me the power to seek outside friends. I am now grown with lots of friends. I have 5 friends I have had for over 30 years, and 2 friends I have had for over 20. life is good!

Yes, it does. I have tried to get over it and I am 60 years old. I always say I was raised by wolves. My parents were not parents. It has affected my life and certainly not in a positive way.

I am happier now than I have ever been. My life has been very difficult and I cannot forgive my parents. I have tried many times and I can't do it. I have been in and out of therapy and that didn't really help either. I had one therapist that accused me of lying because she didn't believe the abuse. She said if I was telling the truth my father had to have been an alcoholic or drug user. Nope, none of the above. He was just plain mean and a nut case!!!!

That was a sad day for me

Yes. My parents sucked and I carry that with me on a daily basis. An overly depressed, bi-polar mother... and an alcoholic, adulterer father. I suffer from severe depression, anxiety, and anger. Yeah.. my childhood haunts me daily.

As a youthful female I remember occurring to the river thinking i might locate treasures hiding on the backside of the water. i might carry somewhat fabric bag in case i got here upon something great. i might make dirt pies and look for vegetation alongside the sector to hold residing house to my mom many cases I had a chum with me whose mom used to declare to her until eventually now we left, "in case you bypass all the way down to that river and drown i visit particularly be mad at you". I giggle now at her illogical fact. in lots of cases i must be cutting-edge in an apple tree interpreting poetry or appearing out a one- guy play, yet while i replaced into long previous for some hours i must be very inventive, and particularly formidable, back then.now and back i might bypass to a chum's barn and leap out the window into bails of hay! If my mom had basically extensive-unfold!lol

It use to, but now I live a happy joy filled life. Lot's of therapy and separation from family.

Fortunately we can choose healthy whole people for friends.

Occassionally a bad memory will surface and I deal with it and move on.

Get on with life because if you live in your past you will be bitter, unhappy and not much fun to be around...

I believe everyone is somewhat "haunted" by things from childhood.Everything we have gone through in life has laid another
"brick" on our pathway of psyche and guides our future patterns of action.

only if i let it. i choose not to. as an adult, i can accept that whatever has happened is in the past and it's over! i will never have to relive any 'haunting' moments or trauma. i am now in control over my life!

It used to, but I have learned a lot and one thing you have to do is forgive anyone who has hurt you when you were a child or even later in life. You can make your life what you want, the past is the past and you don't have to relive it over and over. That is your choice.

Sometimes, so I went online and bought ...cd's...ocean sounds with subliminal messages, and the first I picked was
"healing the child within", 2nd was forgiving and letting go.
They make me feel better...and it says play everyday when you go to sleep, for at least 30 days.
