Since yesterday I have noticed the sound of a mouse in the wall directly in front of me. Today it is still making noise, in the same spot, so I fear it may be trapped in my wall. If the mouse dies, I will end up with a stench that I cant get rid of. What can I do??

The stench goes away with in two weeks. Mice are so tiny that they decompose fast!
Now if you bought the best mouse pesticide bait traps you would still have the same problem!
I actually think your problem is Much GREATER THAN SMELL!
As far as I know, no mouse dies when they live in your walls, Actually they grow fat and healthy in a warm house living on your human left overs!
Truly, my advice is do one of two things!
1. buy a good rodent -a-side, much like a pesticide! at a local Box Store like Lows or Home Depot! The green colored ones are best!
Keep replacing them as fast as they are used up along the basement walls. Shed and Stone Walls, or any other opening that might be enticing to mice!
2. Hire an Orken man type person, but make sure that they have a money back or completion of job policy before you put out the big bucks!

Dear Mouse-ified,
I agree with most of the others who answered. This mouse isnt trapped. Here's the answer you seek- buy mouse traps, Those old-fashioned kind not the glue or the ones that capture them alive. Cut a piece of bacon the width of a pencil and use thread to tie it on to the trigger of the trap. Go around at least ten times up and down the strip of bacon making it harder for the mouse to snatch. And when it does "SNAP" release the mouse when it has expired. Simply insert your hands into plastic bags as though you had gloves on. Once the mouse is in your hand. Turn the bag inside out and tie it up. Dispose. Now wipe off any mouse fluids that may have gotten on the trap. Mice can smell others. Just be sure to keep all other food up that mice may sneak before seeking the bacon. Happy Hunting. PZB

Are you sure it is a mouse? It could be a trapped cat or other animal. Listen carefully. Do you hear any other sounds, like mewing, etc. If so, you will have to have someone locate and cut a hole to remove them. Then you have to find where they got in and seal the hole. If it is a mouse, set out some traps along the wall with peanut butter bait. Maybe it will find it's way out of the wall and into the trap.

the mouse is not trapped. It got in and can get out. What your hearing is it is either making a warm place to stay or is chewing to go forward to where it either smells food or a warmer area of the wall to nestle. The chanches of it dying are slim. It will move to different areas where it can have food and water to drink. Look for possible entrances and set mice traps. peanut butter works well. Oh yeah don't be surprised to catch more than one.,

YES!!!!!! mice can climb walls, I didn't know this until I was coming home one night and since we live right next to a forest we get alot of bugs and stuff trying to come in the house and a mouse ran across the front porch and up the wall. I was so amazed cause i didn't know they could do that.

It is not trapped, it sounds like it is making a home in your home for the winter. You have to set traps in your attic, storage room is attached to house, in kitchen cabinets. He will have to come out for food and water. If you don't like dealing with the traps, you will have to call an exterminator. They will have to come out several times though and could cost you alot. I would try first the traps and see if there are places around you house they could be getting in. You can use steel wool to put around openings in your house that will keep them out, i.e. plumbing, sockets, door frames, windows etc. Good luck to you. Don't give up, I got rid of mine by these methods, two winters now free of mice.

nothing really, unless you want to drill a hole in your wall and throw a smoke bomb into it....but I would just let the mouse be......they move around a lot and when the mouse is done looking around it will go to another room....Haa!! Hey, at least you won't have to deal with the smell if it dies!!!!
