It depends on what state your WC claim is filed in. All states or "jurisdictions" have then own set of laws and regulations. For NC and SC - there is a 7 day waiting period before you are eligible to receive benefits but, generally, checks must be released on or before the 14th day of lost time from work. In NC, you must be out of work for 21 days to be paid for the waiting period. In SC, you must be out of work 14 days to recover the waiting period. Try typing in your state's initials followed by workers compensation in your internet browser to obtain the information you need. Example: "nc workers compensation".

It is based on your state. Each state has a different amount of time. In some cases, it's 7 days. In other cases it is more or less. Talk to you HR.
