this is ridiculious! can't have their own children so they steal others children.

first it was having babies, now they have to be "charitable" and make sure they all keep a good image. It's so ridiculous!!

I think most culturally "famous" people do this for several reasons:
1) They are too busy are self absorbed to actually have their own children. Heavens forbid that they ruin their money maker (body) during the gestation period.
2) They are such Liberals, that they think they are doing the world a favor by adopting little Asians or Africans and bringing them back to the States.
3) A relatively painless way for them to garner positive publicity. Afterall, who will actually be raising that child? Madonna, Angelina? No. Not at all. It will be a nanny or au pair. Can you actually imagine Angelina changing a dirty diaper? Not me!
4) Maybe they actually have some parenting or loving instincts and want to help some unfortunate child.

Hmmm. Let's look at the definition of Adoption.
TRANSITIVE VERB:
a·dopt·ed , a·dopt·ing , a·dopts
To take into one's family through legal means and raise as one's own child.
That's straight from the dictionary, sweets. I don't see anything there that implies theft. (Please note the word LEGAL.)
Adoption is a beautiful thing. Whether you are straight and cannot concieve, or gay, or bi or purple...you are taking a child who would have very few opportunites for love, guidance and family and giving them a whole new start.
If someone has put up their child for adoption, they are aware of all the ramifications. There are all different types of adoption. Closed, open....it is set up for the initial comfort of the birth parent. So don't talk to me about stealing.
