how many people can do this, i would consider it a very nice time, my friend does like a 49 or 51 or somthing, hes nuts, but one time at a swim meet on a relay, i got stuck on Drelay, which out of A, B,C, and D D is the crapiest, so like i swam a one minute flat 100free, i didnt like sprint or whatever im sure i can do a 58, but how many people can do a good time, like 56 55 54? and like how old are you and how long have you been swimming, im 14 and i started last may and i can do a 50yrd free in 24.55

If you improve your endurance you should be able to go about 55 - 56 soon.
Your 50 time is 24.55 so if you went out at about 90% of that (27.)you could swim your second 50 in 29 and be at 56.
Keep working at it. Share your goals with your coach and you can be in the low 50's before you know it!

Okay, I have been swimming on a team for well 3 years. I don't swim competetivly during the winter though, not yet anyway. These results are from when I was 12. For the 50 free my best time is 40.48. For the 100 free, my best is (we don't usually do 100 free, this was just I got put up an age group and some other stuff) 1.32.62. That one's not very good. A good time for a 12 year old girl for the 50 free would be around 35. For 100, it would be around 1.05. So yeah, I think you're doing quite good!
This is all female people too that I'm talking about!

My brother, when he was thirteen, I think swam under that, maybe not, it was a while ago. Anyways he started swimming around 4th grade or so and now he is going to a junior college for swimming, and is going to release his time to coaches to see if he can get into a 4-year uni. At this rate, as long as you have a good coach [a good coach usually comes w/ a good supportive team and environment, along with good conditioning, training, techniques, etc.], I'm sure you'll get below a 56.

I can swim 50m Free [25m pool] in 27, but I'm a T&F athlete, not a Swimmer. I Swim every now and then to keep fit, and plus I'm always up for a race because my competitive spirit will just not let it go! Your time is cool - keep working hard and enjoying Swimming

Ummm... I can swim it in a 53.74. I'm also 14, but i've been swimming for a long time. Like 5 years or something. Yeah. I started out slow. Very, very slow...Once you've been swimming as long as I have, you'll probably be beyond that.
