The standard of living is NOT higher in America than in Britain. We don't have to buy our healthcare/medical treatment like its some sort of luxury, for a start. And we do have a proper Welfare system to care for those who fall on hard times - Americans are too selfish and only care about how much money they can make for themselves and sod everyone else.
Besides, despite Britain being a bit crap on occasions (bad weather, crap Prime Minister, too many Immigrants) I could never leave this beautiful country to go and live in one where there seems to be no real heritage and everyone is desperate to hang onto their roots (ie you Yanks are ALWAYS going on about how you're "part Swiss/Irish/French/German" blah blah blah).
I think your family did not make the right decision. They should have stayed here (What part of the country were they from?). I love being Welsh and British!!!

Definately. This country is going to ****. It's full of Eastern European immigrants and snotty teenage kids with knives. We're taxed to the hilt and the goverment is constantly telling us how to live our lives. You can't criticise things like Islam or the Iraq war because you are seen a not being PC enough and also the football team can't win for crap and that sucks.
They made the right decision and you have better weather in Texas.
