Jeesh, I guess I missed the fact I follow God's word, not that of a feeble human. I oppose gay marriage because it is against the word of our Lord, not because some guy on a pulpit or in congress tells me so.

It just so happens that the same guy on the pulpit read the same book, and was empowered to tell people what to do

I think you are missing the point.

What Haggard did wrong is not the fact that he is gay.

What Haggard did wrong is the fact that he is a *hypocrite*.

As such, it does not change whether or not gay marriage should be allowed. What it does do is change who you should be listening to when you make up your own mind on the issue. Don't think for a second that religious leaders like Haggard have any kind of straight line to our Lord. A lot more of them than you realize are like Haggard or Foley ... telling you one thing, while privately doing the opposite. This means that their motives are not to be good leaders by example ... but to tell you what you want to hear so that you will reward them as the messenger.

And, BTW, I don't think our Lord would have cared at all about gay marriage. He didn't say much about homosexuality at all, much less gay marriage. ... I don't count Paul's words in those two verses in Romans 1:26-27, as something Jesus said ... Paul himself was no more an eyewitness to what Jesus said than Haggard is ... Paul was just another born-again "guy on a pulpit" ... another "feeble human."

So ask yourself if you might be reading something into what the "word of our Lord" is based on your own gut reaction to homosexuality rather than something He actually said. Is it *possible* that Jesus may have been even more loving ... and more tolerant of how people find their happiness ... than you or I are?

No, I think we should allow gay marriage because we aren't the judge and jury. God is, and He can deal with gay people ANY way He wants, when He sees them. It's not up to me.

I'll worry about myself. I think, if you don't 'believe' in homosexuality...don't be gay. Otherwise, it's not for you to worry about.
