Only after Thanksgiving is it acceptable to put lights up. Stay strong until then

I think you will get tired of it if you do it too soon. I always decorate right after Thanksgiving. I know a lot of people like to have the decorations up for Turkey day, but not me. As far as outside, I'd say get started now because it always takes longer than what you think. Plug them in for the first time on Thanksgiving Eve. Just a thought.

i'm the lazy decorator. I do all of it final minute, and that's a pair of few weeks until eventually now Christmas. do no longer even question me how long it takes to take down holiday decorations! this is approximately early adorning. i assume my left-over decorations must be seen very early adorning.

Just as a basic rule.....the day after Thanksgiving is when ALL Christmas decorations can be put up. Wish somebody would tell Wal-Mart this!!! They have Christmas items out at Halloween!!

Two of my online girlfriends started their decorating today! They both started inside, however, as the neighbors get sick of the lights. Outdoor decorations won't be turned on until closer to Thanksgiving.

There's nothing wrong with hanging the lights when the weather's good. Just don't turn them on at night until after Thanksgiving. You don't want to crowd out that holiday.
