My reason for asking is I believe our media and government, (BOTH Rep. and Dem.) have used this false info countless times to foment "patriotism". We see all the time in the media and in government news the figure of approximately 3,000 Americans killed that day, when in fact a percentage were not. Why do we not honor other countries' victims as well? And why do we not in the USA honor the 200 plus Australians(our allies in the "coalition"), Indonesians, etc. killed or maimed in the Bali bombing as well, killed and maimed by terrorists with the same intent. I believe it's blind and ignorant for us to not care about the numbers of other nationalities killed on 9/11, and I've tried to find the numbers everywhere on the net but to no avail. Please don't answer with, "what does it matter who was killed?", or some other non-answer answer. I really want to know if someone has the figures and where they were able to locate it.

Thanks for acknowledging the 89 Australians who died in Bali (the largest number who died). We shouldn't also forget al-Qaeda's first foreign victims - the 200+ Kenyans and Tanzanians who died in the Nairobi/Dar-es-Salaam US embassy bombings in 1998. The War on Terror also includes Phillippinos, Spaniards, Russians, Iraqis, Indians, Israelis, Turks and others as victims of al-Qaeda terror, plus moderate Muslims who get in their way by wanting to live in a country where religion isn't thrust down their throats.

However, the point that should be raised is al-Qaeda sees very little difference between people in the West. People in their eyes are divided by religion (kaffir or Muslim - and in their eyes, only the Wahabist sect is the right interpretation of Islam).

It might be a bit jarring if the death toll of compatriots are listed next to a flag of Old Glory, but there are far worse things to be angry about.

I don't have specific, definitive numbers by country, but some 80 countries lost citizens in the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York. For some nations, like Great Britain the numbers are believed to be in the hundreds. Significant numbers of Pakistanis, Germans, Canadians and citizens from dozens of other lands lost their lives. These were innocent civilians--men, women and children; of many faiths, races, ethnicities. In this regard, it was truly an attack on the civilized world.

Does it matter? The ones who weren't citizens were guests on our soil.
