If I pump and put it in the fridge...and I take it out of the fridge and put it in an insulated bag inside of my diaper bag for about an hour and then I get home and its still very cold...can I safely put it back in the fridge and feed it to my baby later in the evening?

Yes, that should be fine. The guidelines are:

Unrefrigerated good for 24 hours
Refrigerated good for 8 days
Frozen good for 6 months
Deep freeze good for 1 year

There are some other more specific guidelines for breastmilk storage (regarding previously frozen, for preemies, etc), but those are the basic guidelines.

I pumped my milk too, and I know....its LIQUID GOLD!!! Actually it can stay out for over 3 hours with out going bad. Think about it, its served at room temperature, our bodies are at least 98 degrees.

I think it comes into question if the baby has drank out of the bottle, because if so, the baby's bacterial from their mouth gets in the milk, and contaminates it, because the bacteria grows. So as long as the baby didn't take any in, its fine.
Tip: on the road, use a diaper (clean one) to keep your milk cold and insulated, then you don't have to carry anything extra

Yes, freshly expressed breastmilk is good in the fridge for 24hrs. It was still chilled in your diaper bag, you're fine.
However, if you don't plan to use it within that time frame, store it properly and stick it in the freezer!

It should be fine. Below is a link to my favorite breastfeeding site. This link in particular is about storage. The site itself, kellymom.com is a great resource.
