I am interested in Suzuki's cars and trucks. I like their features and prices. However it seems that all of their cars and trucks get way below average mpg. I would like to know why you think they do. Are they geared to low for highway speeds, do they weigh too much, or are their engines just inefficient? Please help if you have any insight.

Suzuki builds quality products, they knocked Toyota's and Honda's when they first came out too. Suzuki has been producing fuel efficient vehicles for many years in their own market, they are experts in engine design. Most likely what the problem is with EPA mileage estimates is that they are unwilling to pay the kickbacks or have the right connections to get their mileage estimates exaggerated or possibly they just have more integrity than most.

Check with owners of other makes and see if they are getting the mileage claimed then check with Suzuki owners. Realize the US auto industry is in trouble, the government is trying to help, the EPA is a part of the government.
