Hot Topic is your friend. Clothing is black, including skulls, artsy patterns, stripes, stars, etc. Tight dark-colored jeans or short skirts + footless tights. Jellies or slipon shoes. Band t-shirts... the longer and more abstract the name of the band, the better (example: My Chemical Romance, Planes Mistaken For Stars, Bear vs. Shark, etc.)
Dark hair, usually cut very jagged/shaggy/fluffy and short, hanging in your face. Usually shorter in the back than the front.
Dark, bold makeup. Pale skin, use blues, reds and blacks for your eyes. Dark lipstick, reds and burgundies.
Messenger bags or tote bags with patches and/or drawing on them.
Tack on a fake piercing or two, for optimum effect.

Okay, wear all black. Eyeliner and dark red or even black lipstick. Don't talk a lot, listen to Heavy Metal/(EMO)Tional music. Put like some hair over one eye. Now basically, you're set!
