Let's think about this for a minute. If the next level up knew how to fully do your job and had time to learn every aspect then you my friend would be out of a job. People higher up the ladder rely on people they can trust to exceed the jobs expectations.

It's easy to criticize the things one knows little about. To understand other individual’s complexities is to earn respect. If you are an expert at your job ask your next level up if there is a part of his job you can tackle. If you learn to handle both jobs then you can truly say diddley squat. You have just earned his/her position. However, beware someone at the next level down thinks you know diddley.

Thanks for the never ending humor.

...they arent very hands on and most wouldnt know the day to day runnings of everything...i notice the same thing in my work as I'm right in the middle...it's a medium sized company in Aust. At my old work it was worse and your comment rang true there. They hired a few people below the CEO on $250K+ per annum with expense accounts + car + phone. They knew nothing, and actually ran other companies from their offices! (-: When they got sacked after 2.5 years, they got golden handshakes(big payouts).

- don't u just hate it when people name their sources like people actually believe them(unless it's wikipedia) or like people actually care.

- "when put in their box, & a ceo(king) and a pawn have the same value". LOL...maybe they'll meet nada in there!

"elevate people to the highest level of their inabilities" seems to be the credo of most companies.
