Tell your irresponsible neighbors to keep their dogs locked up. You can still buy bear traps that trap their feet. Or a mouse trap to snap on their nose. Or put a fence and gate around your trash barrels.

Try pouring bleach on the garbage bags after you put them in the cans. Worked for me.

You tell the neighbors to keep their doggies under control, or you will call animal control and have them do it for them. They are responsible for the animals, and they should FEED them.

I had a feral cat that used to do that to me. I put a lot of Cayenne pepper powder on top of and around the can. One whiff if that and he was gone.

sit in it and hide, then when the dog comes, JUMP OUT! and scare the little mut, or spray it with a bigger dogs scent
