Is limewire illiegal? if it was, i figure they would have shut it down by now, but since it is "fiel sharing" is it illiegal?

No, Limewire is not illegal. There is a disclaimer you click before downloading the software stating you will not use Limewire's file sharing for copy-write infringement. I have downloaded a lot of music from them. The problem I have had is that people don't seem to always know who the correct artists and titles are. I'm sure the artists and recording industry as a whole hates Limewire. But I can't see them ever being able to stop Limewire anymore than they can stop you from selling your old CDs and other recorded material. My only worry is that I might download an infected file.

The program is not illegal, but downloading copyright material, songs ect. is illegal.

It is FREE and is supposed to be a Limewire Pro clone.

apparently, if it's free it's illegal. Because your not paying into the corperation or publisher, or producer or w/e.
but I think your right, they would have shut it down by now,
or there would have been some sort of way of getting people who used it, and it would be all over the news. But that's probably wayy too much work to do.

No it is perfect leagal for the itme being, however it is rather edgy. it may be declared illegal at any moment. I wouldn't use it.
This "Shareware" they use isn'r reliable.
I'm afraid someone will hack the line from limewire to my computer and screw up my system.
It's legal, but it's not safe, and may be declared illegal at any moment.

this is gunna sound stupid, but it illegal to use it but not illegal to put it online for people to use, you can get sued for useing limewire!.......be careful
