i have contacts so i'll tell you this: first of all, you might want to go to your optometrist and have a little ten-minute session on how to put them in. otherwise you'll wind up poking yourself in the eye. they do not have to measure your eyes, but they might just take a look and say, "you need one size larger" or something like that. yes, you can get colored comtacts, but if you have brown eyes, i wouldn't recommend it because you'll just get a ring of whatever color you want outside your eyeball. if you are young, DO NOT WEAR THEM TOO OFTEN because it will mess up your vision at a young age. you need to clean your contacts about every other day using a special solution, not the solutin that youstore them in. your optometrist should give you a special cleaning solution, which you will rub in gently with the tip of your finger. keep all of your contact-related belongings in a certain place so that you dont use them. have fun showing off your glasses-free eyes!!!!

I believe they do measure your eyes during your exam, but you have to have a contact exam. Contacts take a few days to get used to and sometimes they can be very irritating to your eyes. I would NOT suggest getting colored contacts to begin with because in my case, they tend to irritate my eyes more than regular. YES you can get prescription for color contacts, however they will cost about twice as much, and as I said they are more irritating. Good luck!

Yes they 'measure' your eyes for the right fit. You can get colored prescribed contacts that are fairly cheap too.

To wear contacts you need to go to an optometrist for a contact lens exam. The doctor will measure your eyes and fit you for lenses. There are many different brands and not all fit the same. You will get a starter kit of lenses, case and solution. usually for first-time users, you will need a follow-up appointment to make sure that everything is fine.

Contacts come in many varieties. Disposable, breathable, yearly etc. They have colored contacts, tints, plain and whole bunch of other designs. They do need to do a contact fitting, because if they don't they will slip N' slide in your eye. Not Good! So, after you get your fitting then you can order your contacts and look as cool as ever :)

Contacts are great alternative to glasses. Schedule an eye exam. Sometimes insurance will pay a portion of this. The eye exam is just like one you'd have for glasses. I had a hell of of time getting my sample contacts in that first day. Learn to put them in from someone who actually wears them.

Nooo I have used contacts for the longest and all you need is to get tested to see what's your prescription and then you tell him/her you want contacts and you can get them. All of them are the same size. The clear one are cheeper and if you want them colored there like 10$ more but I have both you should get some. They also sell contacts with out prescription so your eyes can be the color you want!

No one size fits all. for me "soft" contacts are better then "hard". They fit over your entire iris not just the pupil. I like the Acuvue 2 contacts they are comfatable and you only have to change them every two weeks. You cannot wear them overnight though. Acuvue also makes colored contacts that are presription. For dry eyes they have Acuvue oasis. Yopu can talk to your eye doctor about more options.

yes you can get colored ones that are prescribed, my friend has green eyes, but she got brown ones. also, they don't have to measure your eye, well, at least i didn't have too, its pretty much the same things you do to get glasses.
