What an exciting time in music that was, the whole Blur Vs Oasis thing, we also had Pulp, Suede and all the rest. Not to mention The Spice Girls arriving on the scene, Take That leaving the scene, George Michael coming back with some great songs after years in the wilderness. I have good memories of that time.

It'd be nice to have a sort of decent Birtish popular music revival based on proper music and not dance crap.

There are some good bands out there now but they aren't getting into the charts the way they did during britpop.. which is a shame. Apart from maybe Arctic Monkeys, Muse and Kasabian you get all this boring middle of the road rubbish like Keane.

No record companies want to put too much in to promoting bands that are a bit challenging to listen to these days. I blame Simon Cowell and the X factor generation.

Bring back the Smiths I say!

this christmas it will be the greatest hits thing......U2, Oasis, Girls Aloud, Sugababes etc in the album charts. The X factor, pop idol, manufactured hype has taken some of the freshness away.
Though i think we are in a strong singer songwriter thing, whether it be Corrine Bailey Rae, James Morrison, Paolo, Amy and so on.......

you know the music scene is bad when keane, kasabian and razorlight make number one in the album charts, its a sorry state of affairs indeed.
There is some great music out there still, its just not commercial, which really is a good thing

There's always good music around if you look for it. I like XFm (London radio station) from about 11pm onwards, they play some crazy stuff

Yes, those were the days. They don't sing 'em like that anymore. And Doo-Wop? Now those really were the days!

Yes, bands today are tedious and derivative.
Get Kraftwerk back together and I'll be listening...
