it's the same with most health warnings, what ever the warning says not to do is exactly what you want the product for, why is this???

I bet you didn't know.

Next month is 'Cotton Wool Bud Awareness Month'

Every year there are 250,000 accidents because of the misuse of CWBs of which over 50,000 people need ear transplants as a result of the damage caused. In addition to this there are sadly 25,000 fatalities from misappropriation of CWBs.

In the wrong hands and in the wrong place these buds are a killer.

CWB related deaths are steadily growing and it is estimated that by the year 2010 they will be the world’s number one killer. Forget bird flu we have an epidemic growing in our own bathrooms.

There are also CWB help groups as a growing number of people are addicted to putting these things in their ears despite the warnings. It starts with applying a bit of make up and before you know it you think “It can’t hurt to just do the outside of my ear” Then you go all the way in. These people are so ashamed of themselves that they rarely seek help.

We need to raise awareness and protect our children by getting these things banned.
On the 10th of December there will be a march on Parliament where a petition will be handed in to Government. Or you can take part in the 10k run starting in Hyde park the following day.

This is a serious problem! Let’s band together and act NOW!

Cotton buds were designed to clean your ears, not to remove make up. You can use them to remove it if you like . Things is, apparently it's not very good to use them because if there is dirt it will push it deeper, which can cause wax or dirt to be accumulated in the ear canal. This is just what I remember, I can't say it's correct.

So I believe that what it means, is that you can insert them in your ear but maybe the ear canal is inserting them too much.

A friend told me a few years ago that the human ear is the same size as our little finger.. that's how nature made us! and so we shouldn't use anything else (she did learn that in Uni).

I use them because I am used to them and I can't stand the feeling of water in my ears.

However, there is a lot of funny or not clear packaging doing the rounds. My personal favourites are: Warning: Contains nuts. (In a packet of nuts), and "No purchase necessary. Details inside".

And so on!:)

When I read those warning labels, I want to laugh...My horse did not come with a warning label and I've been injured worse riding with him than any cotton swab ever did! LOL Men don't come with warning labels, but same thing...hhhhhmmmm.....perhaps I've just come up with a new money making idea!! Wahlah!

If you don't have a big wad of it, it will slip down into the ear canal and have to be removed by a Doctor. Maybe they use earplugs to keep ear medicine in now

They are for ear cleaning, but because some of the users are idiotic enough to pierce their tympana with them, all packages have this warning.

Texanborn, did your horse ever insert a 3 inch item into your ear? Your horse came with no health warning because it's an animal, and should not have you on it's back.

in case you opt to apply a Q-tip to scrub your ears, it incredibly is superb. I try this everynight once I take a bathtub. yet you shouldn't POKE THE Q-TIP interior YOUR EAR CANAL, or it is going to push the ear wax farther interior, in basic terms delicately sparkling the perimeters of you're ear canal in case you are able to desire to; do no longer poke quickly interior!!!!!
