The use of what has already been mentioned and can also use any brand of carbonated soda. Water works, but have to use many applications. After using any of the above, be sure to wash with water, the battery case area and surrounding area on the ground so as to neutralize the area. Follow up with a dab of Vaseline or its equivalent at the terminals. Watch out for the acid kicking back on you and it helps to wear old clothes, rubber gloves and protective eye goggles.

Just plain old Baking soda. A tablespoon in a glass of water will take off all of it. You may have to take two shots at it, but it really cleans those terminals.

If your not home or near the grocery store (for Baking Soda) use Pepsi. The citric acid works really good!
