Quran has superb descriptions of Abraham, Moses, Jesus etc in unique living way. It has remvoed all man made fabrications! When you quote a book, the very first and logical question comes, how authentic is that? Is it in its original language as in translations a lot of changes can occur? Was it preserved from day one letter by letter, word by word? Is the original language of the book still alive and as fresh as on day 1 i.e centuries ago? If the naswer is no then you really can't quote from that book. Only andonly Quran passes this test!
Islam contributed superbly towards civilization and development of sciences. It brought Europe out of darkness and fair and honest Christians and Jews admit that. I see the follwoing points and seek your opinion
1)Muslims are to blame as they are not intracting
2) Missionaries are quoting out of context. Quote from wars applied to normal life
3) Global terroirsts know that only Muslims can resist their plans so they are using media to defame Islam

Muhammad (PBUH) possessed the best manners on earth as recognized by many Non Muslims. Quran strongly disocurages blind worhship. It says that the people of book (Jews and Christians) took their scholars as god as they followed them wihtout asking questions and without using their brains to see if the things said are correct or not etc. Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) used to ask frankly is it from God or is it from yourself as human being. If the naswer was latter, they may not follow in that regard. Muhammd (PBUH) was the most human e person and he always forgave the worst enemies and did not approve personality worship of him or any other human beings and hence no pciture of him! When he died depsite bing the ruler of entire Arabia. he had no money in his home. His home was a 10 X 10 room with nothng fancy in it. He said that if he had a mountain of gold, he would not like it to be with him more than three days as he would distribute it among poor and needy.

Islam is very misunderstood, it's not a religion of peace whatsoever, you mentioned :

>Muhammad (PBUH) possessed the best manners on earth as >recognized by many Non Muslims.

you might want to take a look at this article on wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banu_Qurayza#The_killing_of_the_Banu_Qurayza_men

It describes how Muhammad ordered Massacre of a jewish men of a neighboring tribe, and sold their families in the slave market
and himself took the profit, so much for the "best manner".
I guess everyone knows the story of him marrying a 6 y/o girl.

Its a giant joke. People (left wingers) are so hung up on being politically correct towards other cultures, that its become more important than the truth. When in doubt, look at history.

The only thing Muhammid brought was the sword. Also the back of Muslim men's hands to the cheek of Islamic women. Thats how you can tell a good religion. Like the only pragmatically legitimate one, Catholicism. No other, sincere, religion places more importance on women. The Holy Mother is only superceeded in reverence by Jesus and God. Islam still doesn't see them as equals to men, and almost less then animals. An average Catholic couldn't treat an animal the way Most Orthodox Islamic men treat their women.

This Age has no place for Islam.

As far as I can tell, islamist radicals (and I am not saying all muslims, here) are the only ones to actually kill others for menial things, like not being muslims, or having allegedly said something 'blasphemous'. And islam is the only religion that does not immediately issues statements from religious leaders that condemns such terrorist actions. In 2001, there were muslim people actually chanting in the street, praising allah for killing the americans. Are you going to deny that? So, why don't you make it such that shiites and sunni stop killing each others, _within_ islam, before complaining here? (There is no god, by the way.)

Jesus also refused to let people worship him. A certain ruler asked him "Good teacher what must I do to inherit eternal life". "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good except God alone" Then he told him in order to inherit the earth you must sell everything you have and give it to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven then come follow me". Also in Middle Eastern countries where Islam is predominate they go against their own laws by raping women. Do you know under the current laws women are required to present three witnesses to have someone convicted of rape. Even if you say women are the inferior sex (as some men may claim) or no matter what they have done in the past It is just common sense that this is wrong and even atheist are trying to stop it and your telling me this is the true religion and that this is what your god allows. And when Christians or anyone for that matter steps in and tries to change the laws we are looked upon with scorn and hate. It seems to me that Islam is not misunderstood at all maybe once it was different but now it seems to be corrupt and just another means for people to justify violence and wrongdoing.

All what you have said are ok. In this yahoo, I had put a question why muslims think that their religion is in danger for which i had answers telling it is not so. However I still find that muslims talk of Jihad when their religion is not in danger. So the general feeling is unwarranted terrorism has been let loose by people following this faith. It is not islam but this attitude of muslims that has made the whole religion to be misunderstood.

Because Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and Hinduism have been able to find a way to fit in an increasingly secular, non-religious world. Most nation states despite historical religious influences have discarded religious based laws and accepted the fact that women share equal rights to protection of the law as men, and you can't be decapitate someone for religious heresy.
Islam in most cases refuses to conform to the trend toward secularlism and be part of the 21st century.

I think the answer is in 25:20. God made some people only to test the faithful. Those who misunderstand and say bad things are here to test the faith of those of us who believe.

Anybody who is a particular religion is always going to argue the point that theirs is the right one; I don't care where you come from. I think it's better if everyone researches the Bible's origins, who wrote it, who translated it, and really study the history of Christianity.

It has NOT removed all man-made fabrications. Here is an example of man-made hatred:

"The unbelievers among the People of the Book (Bible) and the pagans shall burn in the fires of Hell. They are the vilest of all creatures." - The Proof.

Here is fact that man has written these words himself. Man-made. I have read the Quran in many formats... all of them point back to this line. Though Islam may be misunderstood, I cannot agree with it at all.
