If Blair carried out what he said he was going to do in 1996 when he got elected then yes. But as people find out the longer you are in power the more corrupt you become so the longer he stays in power the worse his legacy becomes. Proof of this statement is found when you look at Margaret Thatcher. Has she got a good legacy now that she has gone. Her early work yes but her later work no. The proposal I have is that PMs should have one maximum term and if they do good great if not then their out anyway. To answer your second question he has done good in some parts of it but the question is can you tell if they would have happened anyway. Blair has damaged it in most cases created more bureaucracy, more PC terms, more crime, less means to tackle the causes of crime. I could go on but I'll bore you to death. To compare Bush with Blair is no comparrison different political cultures.

No he will not leave a good legacy. He has crippled our health service, and our education system is going the same way.
You ask if he is better than Bush. He is not as stupid (sorry dont mean to insult any americans here, but jeez some of the statements he has made just makes me stare open mouthed and that does not happen often...lol Most Brits see Blair and Bush's puppet. The great majority of Brits was against the war but he did not listen. So maybe he was as stupid as Bush. We could also see that no matter what u say about Sadam, he ruled his ppl with a firm hand. Ok, he killed, but there will always be death in a country where sunni and shite live side by side. The majority will always win. There were no weapons of mass destruction and we the public knew this..........same as we knew the only reason bush wanted to go in was oil. Yes, i think Blair has damaged us in the Middle East and with other Muslim countries around the world. Sorry this was so long a reply.

I think Blair will have an absolutely appaling legacy - quite apart from his mendacious foreign policy activity he has come terrifyingly close to completely destroying the education system in this country, a legacy I think will have a far more resounding (and negative) impact on the country than anything that happened in Iraq. His domestic policy has been an absolute trainwreck for the most part, education just worries me more than anything else.
I wouldn't like to say if he's better or worse than Bush. Although I lived in the US under the Bush administration for four years I can't honestly say that I paid as much attention to his specific actions as it was not my country nor my place to pass judgement in that way. I will say, however, that I have no great regard for Bush either, and his actions certainly made *my* life noticably worse, as a non-resident alien in the US.

.I think Blair and Bush are the biggest war criminals in modern history how they can sleep at night with so many lives on their conscience is beyond me.
They make Saddam Hussein seem like Santa in comparison.
To follow the Bush family unfinished business cause was egotistic and wrong. Remember Bush saying "let them come on"
well they are doing and we Peace lovers are the victims.
Weapons of mass destruction did not exist and that was the reason we went to war!
SOME LIE SOME LEGACY.

Whoever was in power at that time would have had to make some very tough decisions. I've always said that the Bush agenda was the Blair agenda but with more power, the agenda was to remove Sadam nothing to do with WMD.
Politics is a crazy game and I don't pretend to understand what is going on behind those closed doors.
Whoever is in power over the next few years will have to make more tough decisions about North Korea.

Its hard to tell. I think Blair has sort of damaged the nation, but then how much better would anyone else have done? I think he is the same as Bush as he doesn't seem to ever disagree with him!

To answer your questions in order
No.
Some good things but a lot more damage overall.
Not better than Bush just a lot less influencial regarding world politics than Blair thinks he is whereby Bush doesn't know how influencial he is and disregards this in his foreign policy. Bush is an idiot whereas Blair is an idiots puppet. So whose the most stupid?
Hope that helps.

By and large Blair has done good. However his involvement with George Bush will be a stain on his legacy that may never go away. I know you in America think everyone in Britain is all behind America and their gung ho commander, but you would be amazed at how alone Blair is on this issue.

Tony Blair is, in my opinion, the most corrupt, self seeking, egotistical liar to have led our country, his legacy will be one of shame! He has sold us out to the I.R.A,also at the behest of his master,Bush,he has committed British service personell to two illegal and immoral wars,i.e. Iraq and Afghanistan.Bush is cut from the same cloth as Blair, the world of politics would be better off without their inflated egos

All in all I think Blair has been a decent PM. However his bond with Bush has been the most memorable of his premiership - and for all the wrong reasons.
I'm not happy at the way his party has forced him to go, and I can't see Brown being a very good PM - he just doesn't have the face for it and because of that I think we'll have a tory government in a few years.
