I was getting acrylics, they look great the color doesn't chip, you should get them filled every 2-3 weeks depending on how fast your nails grow.
I have just started getting silk wraps. They pretty much look like the acrylics but more natural looking I think. I still have to get them filled every 2-3 weeks with a silk fill. I love them. People look at your hands and nails and make judgments based on how you take care of them.
Silk wraps are more expensive then acrylics but both look nice.

I personally think acrylic french manicures look the best, and are the cheapest and easiest to maintain. Plus, there are all kinds of different colors you can get your tips. its about 2 weeks before you need to get them filled, and a little over a month before you need to get a back-fill (both cost the same). It just depends on how quickly your nails grow.

fiberglass is the most expensive but it stays on the longest. It stays on for about 6 weeks-could be longer or shorterdepending on how fast your nails grow.

Don't get your nails done if they use tools at the place. Trust me
