I would not be surprised is some one has hacked into your Yahoo Messenger account.

You don't say the name of the antivirus program that you have installed. Obvious it is not doing the job for you. Get rid of it as you can only run one antivirus program or you will have serious conflict with your system. You can run three or four antispyware without any conflict.

I use http://www.avast.com Out of prague. Excellent antivirus program that is free for home use. The corporate version is the same they just make corporate pay.

This program scans my MSN Messenger, (I don't use Yahoo Messenger, becasue their security is no security). Quite sure Avast will also scan Yahoo Messenger. Has an excellent background scanner that really work in real time to keep any virus out of your system before it hits. Plus two or three times pers day updates on an automatic basis.

For "Zero Day Attacks". Attacks that come before any security company has any knowledge about the virus, this software that is free will protect you: http://www.cyberhawk.com

If you remove and download a new Yahoo Messenger, the names that are stored in Yahoo's server will come with your download. If these rogue names are in your list of friends, I think that they will show back up again with a download.

Run the Avast scan and reboot always if a virus is found.
