Today (this morning) I was sitting on a bench in a park (in London near Buckingham Palace) ... a elderly couple were sitting with a dog on a bench a few yards away from me. The couple ... they are around after 70's I think .... and their heads were down ... there was no communication between the couple ... and the dog was trying to sheer up the couple by barking and running here and there for few minutes ... finally .. the dog was tired and sitting in front of the couple .. could the dog has done better than that? or does the dog get depression from them?

What do you mean "can the dog do better"? Maybe you should've gotten off your seat and played with the dog, knowing it wanted to play around, if you want to be that way.
there's no telling what the dog could have or not done... No mentione of how old the dog is to even say whether or not it's activity level was that of and older dog, or a young pup.
Or maybe the dog was simply excited and happy for being around the park with them... They'd normally show being happy by jumping aorund like that, not tip their hat!

Oh that's nice, the elderly couple were probably just tired and maybe already given their dog a huge walk round the area already, maybe they were the sort of couple that don't need too many words between themselves, the dog was probably just excited and wanted to get a move on so he could explore a bit more of his surroundings, dogs do pick up on their owners moods and he was probably thinking well these two aren't much fun today are they or maybe will you two get a move on I want to have a nosey round, I don't think the dog was depressed more likely worried he wasn't going to get to go anywhere for a while.

The couple are treating the dog like a grandchild. It is not on as short a leash as if the owners were younger, and eventually the mentality payed off.

I think the dog was just tired out. Probably an old dog. But I think to some extent it was reacting to its' environment.
