The Philippines do not allow for divorce they only allow for an annulment (a process that goes back in time to make a marriage decree as if it never took place). It typically cost 2000 in lawyer and psychologist fees and about 1000 to bribe officials to get the process done. Please give biblical perspective as well as Political and personal perspectives.

Hi,
I really don't know much about things work in the Philippines but I work with a Philippine woman and when she recently found out that I was divorced 8 years ago and that I was raising my 3 kids' on my own, she looked at me like I had 5 heads (no kidding)
She asked me if I got child support and I told her the truth: my husband hasn't paid support in a very long time and that he is so very far behind in payments that now he has a warrant out for his arrest.
She told me that I needed to go to court and make him pay...again, I told her the truth: my ex- works for people who live on a farm and that he feeds the people's farm animals and works under the table, so child support can't find him. (again she looked at me with looks that could kill)
(I personally know what town my ex- lives in but since I don't know his home address or any other information, there is nothing that child support can do to help me catch him)
Anyway, my co-worker continued to ask me questions and since i'm not a liar, I answered her questions truthfully.
Well, she then told me that in the Philippines, things like this are unheard of and that there is no such thing as divorce, child support and every other thing that has to do with this subject.
Anyway, she says that in her country when people get married ...they never get divorced and that they try to make things work even if they are not happy together.
She also told me other things about her country that people do/don't do...I don't mean to be cruel or nasty or disrespectful in any way...but why do people like this (people who believe that their country and people who live there can do no wrong) come to our country and put is down for things that are beyond our control...if their country is so perfect, then why didn't they stay there...instead of coming here?
