Well first an foremost, you will have to either join up to DSL or Cable provider, then you can surf to your heart's content AND NOT MISS any phone calls, unlike being on Dial Up and miss important calls.
Unless you phone company has message bank then you don't miss calls, but have to ring caller back(extra cost) so depends on how many calls you recieve is how you go now..cheers

I presume you are using dial-up, and that you are asking how you can get calls while you are connected to the internet? If this is the case, try Phone Tray, at http://phonetray.traysoft.com/. There is a 30-day trial and it's a very inexpensive registration fee if you like it (one-time fee, no monthly fees).

There is also CallWave, and I like it too, but you have to sign up for "call forward on busy" service with your phone company to use it and that can range from $1-5/month depending on your phone service provider, and there is a monthly fee for the service. It is nice in that it lets you see who is calling and you can either answer it or the caller can leave a message, which is played on your computer. There is a 30-day trial for it as well.

You can receive phone calls while you're surfing online with your pc by subscribing to DSL service instead of dialup.'
