when I type something in it auto completes all the possible web sites I could want (that I've visited in the past). I want to turn that feature off. How?

well in internet explorer. just got to the tools tab at the top. then to internet options > then go to Content tab > then Auto complete button near the bottom. From there you should have 3 options. just uncheck web addresses and then that should take care of it. Also i would clear the history under the general tab. hope that helps.

Depending on which browser but assuming you are using IE, just go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Content Tab -> AutoComplete and check off the Web Addresses.

However that's only going to turn off autocomplete at the Address part but it won't stop the history of URLs that you visited from showing up. For that, you need to reduce the days of page to keep in history in the same options in the general tab.

Go to "tools" and "internet options" and delete pages I've viewed... this will work for most browsers. You also need to go to the "advanced" tab, which opens a whole list of options you can check or un-check. Un-check search from the address bar, or something to that efect, again depending on your browser.

in mozilla firefox:

go to tools and then options, and saved information there you can pick what to auto fill in and what not also erase your histories...

in internet explorer: the newest version

go to tools then internet options then in the general tab go to browsing history, then click on settings and set it up however you want it.
