ok. stop here. you have to be yourself. if you try to be something you aren't people will be able to see through it.
this is something i never understood when i was in high school, but then again, no one gave me this valuable piece of information. by the way, popularity isn't all it is built up to be. i hung out with the popular girls for a while when i switched to a new school... needless to say, they were just as screwed up as everyone else. they sat around eating carrots & worrying about the calories. not to mention, when you are popular, everyone is always talking **** about you.
your best friend is not your best friend if she is so mean.

Second of all, the "popular girls" can wear anything the want because they aren't popular due to the clothes they were. They are popular because of who they are and how they come off to other people. Just be yourself and wear what you wanna wear. Being popular in school means notta once you graduate and enter the adult world. Take Care Sweetheart.

It's not so much about the clothes you wear (although that helps); but it has a lot to do with being kind and interested in people around you. Compliment your friends honestly - and even people you don't know (e.g., "I love that hairstyle on you, where did you get it cut?", "Did you know that color looks great on you?," "Where did you find that awesome bag from?", "You look sad today, is there anything I can do to help?"...). People want to know that other people notice them. Popular people have a knack for doing so (just don't become one of the popular kids then become full of themselves and start putting other people down.)
Oh... and remember... to thine own self be true.

If you really want to be popular, wear what your friends are wearing BUT be sure to add your own personal style. Be a trendsetter and be yourself! If you aren't sure where to begin, try experimenting with funky jewelery or make-up (with make-up focus on one thing at a time-smoky eyes, OR berry lips...etc).
Try ordering a few signature pieces from alloy. They are really funky without being over the top or too boring either. They are affordable and have a great selection of shoes (gatta have some cute shoes!)

Popular girls usually wear a really fake smile to cover the fact that they're really self-conscious and scared to be different and unique from their friends.

well it depends on what you define as popular, popular can be defined as well known or well liked. i say stick with your own style and have people like you for who you are that way when people say hey i like your clothes, you'll know they really like you for who you are. But also if you know what you like go major on it, like if you like preppy go all out and wear like some hollister shirt and some cute jeans with some nice flatts. Besides dont try to be popular based on what you wear if people only like you for what you wear and not who you are, chances they are more likely to talk about you behind your back. But if you wanna know what popular girls wear, in my town popular girls are known for their style yes, but not for someone's else style but their own their own style stands out so much that people cant help but notice them, its the clothes that catch their eyes, but its the girls personality and kindness that gets people to stay and become friends!

well forget about trying to be 'more popular' than your best friend. popularity is just a label, really who decides who's cool and who's not. But for the clothes, wear something comfy and something that makes you feel pretty and confident. Low rise jeans always do it for me.

u r so full-of-ur-self. that is pathetic. c'mon - competing against ur best friend miss popular 101. no, that is not pathetic - u r. but anyway, if u were popular, u would know what 2 wear, but mini-skirts, furry boots, leggings, jeans with holse in them, more mini skirts, soom hoop earings, but don't over-do it, some high-tops, a pink hoodie, and some tanktops to go under V-necks.

....omg....grow up. If you wanna be popular just smile a lot, fake-laugh at people's jokes and put yourself out there....it won't matter what you wear, or even what you look like at all. If you are trying so hard just to be popular and you are butt ugly then people will most likely see you as snobby, wanna-be, piece of crap.
I would suggest wearing whatever you'd like.
