De la Rocha has largely remained out of the public eye ever since Rage's breakup. His most recent appearances have been on the Songs and Artists That Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11 soundtrack with the track "We Want It All" (produced by Trent Reznor) and on the song "Act III Scene 2 (Shakespeare)" on Saul Williams's self-titled album in 2004. Rumors of an impending solo album persist, though little real evidence of such a project exists. However, De la Rocha has been linked to a collaboration project with The Mars Volta's ex-drummer Jon Theodore, according to The Comatorium, an official fan site for The Mars Volta.

Zack is also, according to a 2006 Spin article, actively working with the Son Jarocho group Son De Madera and has performed with them on a number of occasions including the 'Save The Farm' rally for the South Central Farmers plot in Los Angeles, California. Among the songs de la Rocha performed was one critical of the government's response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

i think of of that Zack de la Rocha has a undesirable voice yet he makes use of the music to help his weaknesses...Mike Shinoda has a greater air purifier voice that doesnt grant off that rap experience. de la Rocha makes use of the music to strengthen his rapping RATM the full way!!!
