First convert miles to feet:
(90 miles)(5280 ft / 1 mile) = 475,200 feet per hour.
Now that you have a rate, you can find the distance traveled over a period of time:
(475,200 feet)/(1 hour) = (60 feet / ? hours)
Solving for the unknown, you get:
60/475200 = 0.000126262 hours.
Now convert into a more convenient time measurement, like seconds:
(0.000126262 hours)(60 min / 1 hour)(60 sec / 1 min) =
0.45 seconds

Hope this helps

Hello there! :) I sure hope you're doing well. :) First, 1 foot = 30.48 cm & 1 mile = 160934.4 cm So, by cross multiplication, we find that 1 mile = 5280 feet. Since the ball was clocked at 90 miles, that means it was going at 475200 feet. And 1 hour is obviously 3600 seconds. So now we've got: In 3600 seconds it travels at 475200 feet, while in X seconds it travels 90 feet. So, once again, by cross multiplication, we get: – X = 0.6818 seconds. (Note: The dash over the 18 means it repeats!) I hope this helps and is clear enough. :) Good luck, take care and have a great day. :) Cheers! :)

First, you must express the two values in the same units. For simplicity's sake, let's convert the velocity.
90 mi./hr. = 90 mi./hr. * 5280 ft./mi. * 1 hr./3600 s = 132 ft./s
If the ball is travelling at 132 feet per second, how long will it take the ball to travel 60 feet? Remember that velocity is distance/time, so time is going to be distance/velocity.
v = d/t
t = d/v = 60 ft./(132 ft./s) = 5/11 (or 0.455) seconds.
You've been watching baseball, haven't you? ;)

Is there a concrete answer to your question?
Something is missing in your question. You didn't specify how you threw the ball, whether horizontally, vertically or with some angle with respect to the earth ground.
If the angle is 0 (horizontally), the time it takes to travel a horizontal distance of 60 ft is 5/11 second.
If the angle is 90 (vertically), the time would be 3.34 seconds (I guess).

Easy. Assuming you are neglecting air resistance, you can use this formula: V=D/T where v is the velocity, in this case the 90mph, D is the distance, in this case 60 feet and T is what you are trying to figure out. plug in the distance and velocity and solve. DONT FORGET TO CONVERT YOUR MILE UNITS INTO FEET!!!! If you are NOT neglecting air resistance then it gets a little more complicated. You would have to use a little calculus. If you have to know how to do it with calc you can email me.

1 mile = 5,280 feet
1 hour = 3600 seconds
90 MPH = 475,200 feet per hour
475,200 feet per hour / 3600 seconds = 132 feet per second
60 /132 = .454545... seconds

depends.....are you saying the ball is traveling at a consent 90mph from point A to point B.
or does the ball start at a stand still, speed up to 90mph from point A to point B as if it was really thrown?
this question will change the answer.
