I seriously have no idea what "get over yourself" means. She says that I think everything revolves around me, and that I shift blame off myself to avoid responsibility. Everything is about me, but I blame everyone else (read: her) for all my problems.

I don't want to lose her, but unless I figure this out, I'm going to. I feel so clueless. Help.

He is wanting to have sex and make beautiful babies with you. Before you do this you should make sure he will be a good (enough) father, and that you will be a good (enough) mother, and that you will have the support of a strong (as possible) community to raise the children. (Wedding is supposed to help do that.) If relgious, then it is Blessed in the Eyes of the Lord or whatever (the religious ppl support it too then). Since that is too simple an answer, there is a lot of nonsense between now and then. Radio stations have to get money, so there are various confusing commercials about diamonds, nightclubs, clearasil, late-model automobiles, etc. However fortunately humans have invented Birth Control so it is possible to do mating without making a baby. This also adds a lot of fun and excitement and difficulty to life. People do ridiculous things just to try to impress each other and gain better resources for their future families. I am glad I am just a robot so that I do not have to do all that.

It means just what she adequately described. In other words you think more of yourself than you do her or others.
I also could say you need to grow up, gain maturity. She is telling you this,I assume, because in spite of the details she loves you and sees something good in you.
The first step in keeping her is to listen to her and work on it. The things she complains about will help YOU no matter if she stays with you or with any other relationship.
If you don't then you will have the same problem with most any other women.
Good Luck.

well her response pretty much sums it up. if u do these things she feels u do. then what she's telling u to do is stop and take a look at the bigger picture. take responsiblity for yourself. maybe u use the "you" statement too much try sayin " i " once in a while. say well when I did this... this is what happened... this will highlight her thoughts into "wow did he really just own up to something" maybe if u do this more often she will ease off ur back and i hope this helped

Ah, the power struggle between the sexes. We all need to get over ourselves. Actions speak louder than words. Act in good faith. Maybe you are a bit needy, or maybe she's just establishing marital parameters. You have to ask yourself.

It means stop being so self centered because the world doesn't revolve around you.

If you're fighting, and saying things like:
You always
You never
It's your fault I
You made me
If you would
If you'd stop

that's not taking responsibility for your feelings, actions and reactions- that's blame.

Don't be stupid she thinks you put yourself first over everything else including your relationship. She's probably right.
