It would be great if they did. They need to quit having the best record in the NHL and then lose in the first round of the playoffs. I thought you hated the Wings?

You always have to out-do yourself. First saying that the Mets will lose 120 games next year, then saying that Ohio State will win 58-0 over Michigan, now this filth. Do you ever stop to think what you type on these things?

Didn't they lose to Edmonton in the first round last year? They'll have a tougher time against teams like Anaheim, Dallas, and Minnesota. And Nashville is only a win or OTL from taking the lead in the Central.

My vote goes to Buffalo. They have a consistent team and don't really have any weaknesses as of yet. If they don't tire out for another 6 months, they'll be hoisting that 40 pound piece of silver.

If the Red Wings can get past Chicago, then I think Detroit has a great chance of getting into the Stanley Cup Finals. If Detroit get to the finals, then I think they could beat Pittsburgh or Boston if the Red Wings continue to play like they are currently.

As long as they keep playing Chicago, St. Louis, and Columbus 8 times a season they can rack up all the regular season points they want, but Chicago, St. Louis and Columbus won't be making the playoffs anytime soon. That's why Detroit was knocked out by Edmonton in the first round last year. Edmonton plays in a slightly tougher conference.
As long as the NHL continues with the schuduling the way it is, Detroit can win all the presidents trophies all they want.
I say let all the teams play each other at least twice a season, more in your conference, and we'll see who is more playoff ready. It still won't be Detroit. They just won't get the presidents trophy either.

Only because the Flyers couldn't beat an egg right now. Seriously, I couldn't rule the Red Wings out but my pre season choice on Yahoo! Answers was the Canucks and I'll be quietly pulling for the Devils since they are in our division and closer to Philly.

Detroit I would like to see win, but don't believe they will. Toronto will be lucky if they make the playoffs. Buffalo will win.
