Nicholas Rodney Drake (June 19, 1948 – November 25, 1974) was an English singer/songwriter and musician best known for his solo acoustic, autumnal songs. Drake's primary instrument was the guitar, but he was also proficient at piano, clarinet, and saxophone. Between 1969 and 1972, he recorded three albums, which though they failed to find a wide audience at the time, have steadily grown in stature since, to the extent that he is now widely considered to be one of the most influential acoustic songwriters of the last 40 years.
